Privacy Policy for Airline Favorites

This Privacy Policy explains how the Airline Favorites browser extension handles your information. We take your privacy seriously and have designed the extension to store as little data as possible, entirely within your own browser and Google account.
What Data We Collect
Airline Favorites collects only the information you choose to save while using the extension:
- Trip names — the labels you create to organize your saved flights.
- Saved flight details — information you select from Google Flights or Skyscanner, such as airline, origin, destination, dates, price, currency, duration, URL, and any optional comment you add.
- User settings — your preferences for whether to show the favorite button and context menu.
We do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or browsing history outside of the specific flight details you save.
How Data Is Stored
Your data is stored locally in your browser using Google Chrome's built-in sync service (chrome.storage.sync). This means:
- Your saved trips and settings are synced across devices where you are signed in to the same Google account.
- The synced data is stored on Google's infrastructure as part of your Chrome profile.
- We do not operate our own servers and do not receive a copy of your data.

How Data Is Used
Your data is used only to provide the extension's core features:
- Organizing trips — trip names let you group saved flights into collections.
- Saving flight details — storing flight information lets you revisit and compare your favorite options later.
- Customizing the experience — your settings control how the extension appears and behaves while you browse.
Third-Party Services
Airline Favorites does not use analytics, tracking, advertising services, or any other third-party APIs.
The only third-party service involved is Google Chrome Sync, which is used to synchronize your saved data and settings across your signed-in devices.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Your saved trips and settings are private to you and your Google account.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is kept for as long as you choose to keep it in the extension.
You can delete your data at any time:
- Delete individual trips — remove a single saved flight or an entire trip from the side panel.
- Clear all data — use the option in the side panel to remove all saved trips and settings.
If you uninstall the extension, your data remains in your Chrome storage until you delete it manually or clear your browser data.
Your Choices and Controls
You remain in control of your information:
- You choose which flights to save and which trips to create.
- You can change your settings or delete your data directly from the extension's side panel.
- You can manage or disable Chrome Sync from your browser settings at
chrome://settings/syncSetup.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
